Each Sunday, please join Astrologer Carol Ferris and the Director of The Salome Institute, Satya Doyle Byock, as we explore Jung’s Red Book story by story, weaving the personal and collective psychology of these times throughout. There will be time for Q&A at the end.

No matter your background in Jung’s work or in astrology, we welcome your presence. If you’d like to follow along with the reading, please contact your local bookstore to see about ordering The Red Book reader’s edition, or the larger facsimile edition.

It is more important than ever for us to stay connected to Soul, symbolism, and the unconscious right now, lest we all go mad with the ever changing chaos above ground.

Carl Jung’s journey into the unconscious began in 1913, just months before the sudden beginning of WWI. The astrology of that time is, in several respects, much like the astrology of ours.

In the midst of this global pandemic, with the contraction back into our homes and out of the extroverted world, Jung’s encounter with his own soul provides a map for us towards the re-connection with our own.

In many respects, Jung anticipated this time and left us instructions.

Instructions for Joining the Salon via Zoom

  • Note - you might want to try these steps before our Salon time to be sure you are set up and ready to join us!

  • For phones only: Download the Zoom app for iPhones (here) or for Android phones (here)

    • After you download the app, open it, tap "Join Meeting”, and enter this meeting ID: 860-600-239

    • You will see a message that says “To hear others please join audio”. If your phone is on wifi, select “Call using Internet Audio”.  This is the much easier way to get connected.

    • Otherwise select “Dial In”, select any of the phone numbers, and then select “Dial”. The phone will dial and auto-enter a code. After the call is connected, return to the Zoom app.

  • For computers (not phones) go to this link: https://zoom.us/j/860600239

    • You will see this message: "If nothing prompts from Browser, download and run Zoom”

    • If, indeed, nothing happens, click the “download and run Zoom” link. Your computer will download a file, but do not run it. Just ignore the downloaded file.

    • As the (ignored) file downloads, the same page will update with a second message that says: "If you cannot download or run the application, join from your browser.”

    • Click the blue “join from your browser” link

    • The page will update. You will probably see

      • A message that says something like “The meeting has not yet started”. If you see that message, just sit back and wait. We will join you soon!

  • Just FYI: Although you will see and hear us, we will not be able to hear or see you. You will be muted upon entering. There will be space for saying hello and asking questions at which time you’ll need to unmute yourself.

  • Later, we will attempt to share a link to the recorded event.

In case you missed the first gathering! Full recording below.

From March 22, 2020. Our first Sunday Salon.
